Air access
There are two international airports in Armenia – “Zvartnots”, 15 km outside of Yerevan, and “Shirak” in Gyumri. Various national and foreign carriers operate flights to Yerevan and Gyumri and include Aeroflot, Alitalia, Air France, Austrian Airlines and Czech Airlines. Yerevan has direct air connection with Beirut, Dubai, Istanbul, Kiev, Rome, Moscow, Paris, Prague, St. Petersburg, Tehran, Vienna, etc.
Overland access
It is possible to drive to Armenia via Iran – southern border of Armenia, or via Georgia – northern border of Armenia. The route through Georgia provides access to the Black Sea ports of Batumi and Poti, the route through Iran – to the Persian Gulf. The western and eastern borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan are closed.
Railway
Rail links through Georgia and Iran remain open. There is an overnight train to Tbilisi, Georgia. In spring/autumn/winter (late September to mid-June) the Tbilisi-Yerevan train runs every second day, departing Tbilisi at 20:20 and arriving Yerevan at 07:00 next day. Rail links through Turkey and Azerbaijan are closed too.
